Our Kenyan assignment had been a long time coming. Having signed up in December 2019 for the start date in December 2020, we had waited with great anxiety for the day to arrive. Our plans for Panama and Italy had been cancelled due to COVID 19 and we were worried we would have to cancel this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We were glad to be visiting family in England on our way, but with quarantine and lockdowns in place we were still anxious that things could change at any minute. But here we are! Quarantines, lockdowns and testing all behind us. We made it to the amazing country of Kenya!
